Air Canada Rouge Flight 1702 from Las Vegas to Toronto was forced to make an emergency landing in Iowa on Wednesday afternoon.

Multiple reports say the flight diverted to Des Moines International Airport due to the smell of smoke onboard. However, the cause has not yet been identified.

“The A321 aircraft landed normally and as per standard procedure, was met and inspected by airport first responders, and cleared to taxi to the gate,” an Air Canada spokesperson told CHCH.

“A replacement aircraft was dispatched, with customers arriving in Toronto early this morning.”

The airline says 176 passengers were on board the flight. No injuries have been reported.
