Aid for Binbrook flood victims

Hamilton homeowners hit by flooding last month will be able to access another $2 million in relief.

City councillors have decided to top up a protective plumbing subsidy program and provide compassionate grants, which dried up about a week before the storm flooded hundreds of basements in Binbrook and on Hamilton’s east mountain.

Up to $2,000 per household is now available to install sump pumps and backflow valves to avoid sewer backups.
