Additional tickets made available for Hazel McCallion funeral

More tickets are now available for Hazel McCallion’s state funeral after the first round of tickets released on Thursday were claimed within 20 minutes.

McCallion’s funeral will be held at 11 a.m. at the Paramount Fine Foods Centre, located at 5500 Rose Cherry Place in Mississauga.

Tickets are required to attend for crowd control purposes and can be found on the Ticketmaster website.

The government of Ontario first announced the release of tickets last week, but have now made more tickets available after the first round was claimed within an hour.

The state funeral will also be livestreamed on the Government of Ontario’s YouTube channel for those who are unable to attend in person, as well as live streamed at the Living Arts Centre located at 4141 Living Arts Dr. in Mississauga.

McCallion died on Jan. 29 at the age of 101. She was the mayor of Mississauga for 36 years and one of the longest-serving mayors in Canada’s history.
