Accused in rogue rig chase in court

The man arrested at gunpoint in Burlington yesterday following the pursuit of a stolen tractor-trailer, appeared in court today.

Jason Meadus, 40, of Brampton is facing 10 charges including failing to stop for police, dangerous driving and theft.

Police say the flatbed truck was stolen in the Niagara region Monday morning and travelled to London before turning around and eventually pulling over in Burlington.

A bail hearing has been set for next Thursday.
