(Updated) The case of an accused hit man was back in a Hamilton court this afternoon.

Daniele DiTrapani has pleaded guilty to being an accessory after the fact to murder in the death of Frank Figliola. He was originally charged and convicted of first degree murder in 2006, but that was later overturned in an appeal.

DiTrapani says he helped Maria Figlola – Frank’s wife – cover up the murder, but says he is not the hit man who killed Frank. DiTrapani had his head down and was crying while the statement of facts was read.

Maria Figliola is currently serving a life sentence for first degree murder. The Crown argued she killed Frank for money.

DiTrapiani will be back in court for sentencing January 19th.
