At just six-years-old a Hamilton girl has already made a name for herself as a young actress, working alongside some of the biggest names in Hollywood.

Emily Mitchell has been in front of the camera for around a year and a half.

“I never get nervous” said Emily.

The kind of confidence needed to act in an Oscar winning movie.

Emily played Miep Friesen in Toronto director Sarah Polley’s film “Women talking”.

The film about the women of an isolated religious colony revealing a shocking secret about the colony’s men, took home the Oscar for best adapted screenplay this year.

During filming, Emily rubbed shoulders with some big Hollywood names including Rooney Mara, Francis McDormat, and worked most closely with Claire Foy.

Emily’s mom said she couldn’t be more proud.

Now you can see Emily’s next film “Ordinary Angels” which stars Hilary Swank and Alan Ritchson, that comes out in October.

She is also going to be in an upcoming Disney movie, but the details on that one are under wraps.
