The downtown drop-in facility is operated by Wesley Urban Ministries. The landlord, Wesley Community Homes, a completely separate entity, isn’t renewing the lease.

The Wesley Community Homes board in consultation with the city of Hamilton decided that the best way to move forward would be to redevelop the entire space into 10 to 12 affordable housing units.

Urban ministries did apply to lease the 2nd floor for a safe drug use and treatment site, but the landlord turned it down.
