“A Midsummers Dream” Hindu Festival

There was a cultural celebration in Hamilton on Saturday as the “A Midsummer’s Dream” festival took over Gage Park. Inspired by the Hindu festival Holi, it is a celebration of unity, peace, happiness and joy. This year, the festival happens to fall on South Asia’s Independence Day so it’s a duel celebration. The festival has live music, a large yoga fest, arts and crafts and an abundance of throwing colours. To date, the “A Midsummer’s Dream” has raised over 5000 pounds of food for local food banks. This year, they partnered with Living Rock Ministries in support of street involved youth.
