Grocery stores make changes in wake of COVID-19

Grocery stores are making changes to stores to limit the spread of coronavirus.
Loblaws is cutting back on stores hours to allow extra time for store cleaning and rest for staff.

“We’re limiting the number of customers allowed into our busiest stores to give each of us the space we need for social distancing,” says Galen Weston, executive chairman of Loblaws Companies Limited.
He says supplies are being replenished but is urging customers to take only what they need.
Meanwhile Sobeys is also making changes, including having cashiers work behind Plexiglas shields.
Staff are washing hands every 15 minutes and adding extra cleaning to common areas.

Self-serve areas have been closed and items will either be pre-packed or served by a staff member.
