80 inmates test positive for COVID-19 at Kingston prison

80 inmates at the Joyceville Institution have tested postive for COVID-19, according to Correctional Service Canada (CSC).
Four staff members at the prison have also tested positive for the virus.
The statement made by the CSC also confirmed five cases at Collins Bay Institution in Kingston and three cases at Warkworth Institution in Trent Hills.
Inmates who were recently transferred from Joyceville are being isolated and monitored for symptoms.
The announcement was made hours after CSC temporarily suspended in-person visits in Ontario due to concerns of the virus.
The new rule took effect on December 16th at all of its Ontario institutions and community correctional centres.
