8 of 9 shots struck Yatim

The family of Sammy Yatim say they’re “distressed” by what they’re hearing about the 18-year old’s shooting death on a TTC streetcar.

Nine shots can be heard on surveillance and cell phone videos that captured the incident. And according to some reports, 8 of those shots actually struck Yatim.

The Special Investigations Unit, however, has only confirmed that Yatim was tasered, and shot multilple times.

The coroner’s office says that by law, they can only give information regarding their investigation to family members, and people directly involved. The family says they haven’t seen a copy of the coroner’s report yet, and can not verify if what they’re hearing in the media is true.
