72-year-old driver dead, 3 others injured after crash in Oakville

A 72-year-old Oakville resident is dead and three others are injured following a three-vehicle collision on Dundas Street West Monday afternoon.
Halton police say the crash happened shortly after 12 p.m. at the intersection of Dundas Street West and the westbound off-ramp of Highway 403 in Oakville.
Investigators say a 17-year-old Mississauga resident driving a white Ford F150 entered the intersection from the highway and collided with two vehicles travelling eastbound on Dundas Street West.
Officers say witnesses indicated that motorists on Dundas Street West had the right of way at the intersection.

The first vehicle struck was a Toyota matrix that was being driven by a 72-year-old Oakville resident, who died of their injuries at the scene.
The second vehicle hit was a white Volkswagen Golf that was being driven by a 62-year-old Toronto resident, who was taken to hospital with serious non-life-threatening injuries.
Police say there were no other occupants in those vehicles.
The 17-year-old driver and 15-year-old passenger of the Ford F150 were transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators say there are no indications that any of the drivers were impaired or that speed was a factor in the crash.
Police’s collision reconstruction unit is investigating whether a medical event led to the incident.
Westbound lanes of Dundas Street West have reopened.
Witnesses who have not yet spoken with police are asked to contact the collision reconstruction unit at 905-825-4747 ext. 5065.
