Brantford police retrieved a stolen 45-calibre handgun and 700 rounds of ammunition Thursday morning.

Officers found the gun near the entrance to the city landfill, and then found the ammo and other accessories in a gym bag stashed in a nearby culvert. The gun was taken from a Norfolk County address in April. Police haven’t made any arrests.
