500 marijuana plants seized in a drug bust in Grimsby

Niagara police have seized over 500 marijuana plants, 3.6 pounds of dried marijuana and 440 prescription pills after drug bust in Grimsby.

Police have been investigating a Grimsby residence since March of this year, and yesterday evening they received a search warrant for the home of Ridge Road West.

Police discovered a marijuana grow operation in the basement of the house and seized marijuana plants and dried product with a street value of just over $537 000. The seized pills have a street value of over to $12, 000.

Fifty-seven year old David Warrilow and 50 year old Lorraine Sauve have been were arrested and charged with one count of Unlawful Production of a Controlled Substance, one count of Possession of a Controlled Substance, and two counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking.

Both have since been released from custody and will appear in court in May.
