5 in hospital after Ancaster crash

Five people were taken to hospital after a head-on collision in Ancaster Sunday afternoon.

Police say a car and an SUV collided on Wilson Street near Highway 52 around 12:30. A woman in her twenties was rushed to hospital in critical but stable condition after being extricated from her car. Three 17-year-old boys and a 45-year-old woman were also taken to hospital, but everybody involved in the crash is expected to recover.

Wilson Street near Alberton Road was closed for several hours this afternoon while police cleaned up the debris. Police say this time of year is prone to crashes and are reminding drivers to watch their speed.

The collision reconstruction team is investigating the crash.
