5 arrested for trying to enter U.S. illegally from Niagara Falls

Five people have been arrested in upstate New York after allegedly trying to get into the United States illegally from Niagara Falls.

The incident happened Sunday morning on Grand Island, just minutes from Niagara Falls.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection say four people tried to enter the United States illegally, while a fifth is accused of migrant smuggling.

Authorities say a blue sedan was searched as part of the investigation, and then later towed away.

The agency is now investigating the incident. Further details have not been released.
