5 arrested after altercation at an Oakville residence

Halton Police have arrested five people following an altercation at an Oakville residence.

On February 22nd 2016 at approximately 01:00am police responded to a 911 call at a residence in the area of Dundas Street and Sixth Line in Oakville.

The occupants of the home reported several males attempted to enter the residence by smashing through the front door.

All the suspects were carrying various weapons including a handgun, a sledge hammer and a container of bear spray.

An altercation occured resulting in one person being sprayed with bear spray.

Police arrived shortly after being called and four suspects were quickly arrested as they attempted to flee the area in a vehicle.

Later on the evening of February 22nd investigators arrested a 5th suspect in relation to the incident.

Investigators believe this incident was a targeted attack and no public safety concerns currently exist.

The following individuals have been charged jointly with multiple offences including:
Break and Enter, Disguise with Intent, Administer Noxious Substance, Point Firearm, Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose, Assault with a Weapon, Possession of a Controlled Substance.

Charged are:
• Harish Joshi, 28 years of Mississauga
• Nicholas Lister, 26 years of Mississauga
• Mohammad Saberian, 27 years of Mississauga
• Jessica Lawrence-Konopka, 25 years of Mississauga
• Cory Nelson, 28 years of Mississauga

All accused parties were held for bail hearings.
