3 men sentenced in Mount Hope kidnapping and murder case

Three men have been sentenced to 17 years each in prison related to the kidnapping and shooting in Mount Hope back in 2021.

It was in Sept. 2021 when three men entered the Ali family home in Mount Hope and kidnapped the father, Faqir Ali, after shooting both of his sons. 21-year-old Nano Ali and his brother were shot while trying to protect their family, and Nano died from his injuries.

Faqir Ali was forcibly taken from the home and shoved into an SUV. He was violently assaulted before being found near Beach Boulevard in Hamilton.

It was revealed in court Friday that a $400,000 ransom was the motive behind the kidnapping.

29-year-old John Bartley, 37-year-old Gino McCall, and 29-year-old Antoine Chambers all pled guilty to manslaughter, kidnapping and aggravated assault. Each has been sentenced to 17 years in prison, to be served concurrently.
