29 year old charged with distracted driving

On May 5th, shortly before 12pm, a woman driving was using her cell phone failed to stop for police near King Street East and Hughson Street North.

She drove away at speeds over 50km/hr through several red lights.

Police also saw that the woman failed to stop at a number of stop signs in residential neighbourhoods.

After turning onto Elgin Street police were able to conduct a traffic stop and the woman was arrested without incident and her car was impounded.

The woman was later released and is set to appear in court.

The woman has been charged with:
Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle
Flight from police
Driving while suspended
Distracted driving
Failure to produce ownership of vehicle and failure to produce insurance card.
