26-year-old St. Catharines man arrested for alleged sexual assault of child

Niagara police have arrested a 26-year-old St. Catharines man for allegedly sexually assaulting a child he met over the internet.

Police say they started an investigation in January into the alleged sexual assault of a 15-year-old girl in St. Catharines.

The offences reportedly happened between September 2023 and January 2024, and the victim and the suspect met over the internet.

On Thursday the investigation led to the arrest of Kenneth Vivian of St. Catharines. He is charged with sexual assault, invitation to sexual touching, and sexual interference on a person under 16-years-old.

Vivian was held in custody pending a bail hearing in court in St. Catharines.

Investigators believe there may be more victims and anyone with information is asked to contact the lead detective at 905-688-4111, option 3, 1009468.
