Peel Regional Police have announced a $25,000 reward related to the fatal shooting of nine year old Kesean Williams, which happened one year ago today.

Kesean — who grew up in Hamilton — was watching TV in his Brampton home last January 23rd, when a bullet pierced through his living room window and hit him in the head.

Kesean, his older brother and their mother had only just moved into the house the week before.

Police released three surveillance videos today. Two of the videos show a man investigators call a person of interest, running from the scene. He was wearing a three-quarter length jacket.

The third video shows footage of Kesean just hours before he was shot.

The up to $25,000 reward is for information leading to the arrest and conviction of anyone responsible for the shooting.

Inspector George Koekkoek says the according to the evidence, it was not a stray shot.

“We believe the person responsible was targeting the residence, and our examination of the physical scene confirms that the person was standing immediately outside the window when they fired the gun.”

Police do not necessarily believe the Williams family was targeted.
