Crews battle residential fire in Oakville

Two people in Oakville escaped without injury after their home was fully engulfed in flames Tuesday afternoon.

Police received a call shortly before noon for reports of a fire at a residential address on Cross Ave.

The home suffered extensive damage as a result of the fire (Image courtesy/David Ritchie).

The building was fully involved once emergency responders arrived. Two people inside the home were able to escape without injuries.

Members of Oakville fire extinguished the blaze and worked to clear the scene. The home suffered extensive damage as a result of the fire.

The cause of the fire has not been released at this time. Halton police closed westbound Cross Ave. for several hours while crews fought the fire.
