The CP Holiday Train has been stopped in its tracks because of COVID-19.

Every year since 1999, the train has traveled across Canada and the U.S. in November and December collecting food and bringing attention to the work of local food banks.

This is the first time since 1999 the train will not run.

“COVID-19 has created many challenges for communities across our network and has only increased the need at local food banks and food shelves,” said CP President and Chief Executive Officer Keith Creel.

“It is our honor to continue to donate to communities across our network this year, even if the train itself will not run.”

Canadian Pacific will still organize donations to food banks in communities along its network.

CP will host a virtual concert this year. Details will be announced later.

The Holiday Train is expected to return in 2021.
