2 men charged after man found dead in St. Catharines home

Police have charged two men with manslaughter after another man was found dead inside a home in St. Catharines Monday evening.

Officers responded around 8 p.m. to a multi-unit housing complex on Louth St. near Valley Rd. where a 34-year-old man was found in critical condition.

The man was pronounced dead following resuscitative efforts. Police then arrested two men at the scene.

Forty-two-year-old Ryan Johan Orland Logtenberg of St. Catharines and 45-year-old Shawn Robert Dearl Montgomery each face charges of manslaughter and failing to comply with a release order.

Both men were held in custody to attend a bail hearing in St. Catharines Tuesday.

Detectives say there is no ongoing threat to public safety.
