Short, who was a graduate of Westdale Secondary School and McMaster University, has kept Hamilton close as he rose through the Hollywood ranks. In 2019 he joined efforts to restore the city’s iconic Westdale Theatre, helping to rake in thousands of dollars in support of the project.
Another Hamilton name can be found on the list of nominations. Luke Kirby has received an Emmy nod for the Guest Actor in a Comedy Series category for his appearance in the Amazon Prime series “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel”.
This marks Kirby’s third Emmy nomination after winning the category in 2019 and being nominated once again in 2020 for his role as Lenny Bruce in the series.
Other notable Canadians made it onto the list including Lamar Johnson for his role in the hit HBO show “The Last of Us” and star of Netflix’s “Queer Eye” Antoni Porowski.
