2 Fort Erie residents charged following stolen vehicle investigation

Two residents from Fort Erie are facing drug trafficking charges following a stolen vehicle investigation by Niagara police.

On Saturday, officers stopped a suspected stolen vehicle in the parking lot of an apartment complex on Concession Rd.

Police searched the vehicle and found roughly $1,000 worth of fentanyl, meth, and cocaine. They also located drug paraphernalia and $500 in cash.

Kristie Strauss, 29, and Victoria Hurst, 36, were arrested and charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, and three counts of drug possession.

Both women have been released from custody and are expected to appear in court at a later date.
