2 drivers charged following electric scooter collision in Hamilton

Hamilton police have charged both drivers involved in a collision between a minivan and an electric scooter on July 24.
Officers say that on July 24 around 8:15 p.m. a minivan collided with a stand-up electric scooter on Rymal Rd. West near Garth St.
The individual operating the scooter was taken to hospital with serious injuries, but in stable condition.

Following an investigation by the Collision Reconstruction Unit, both drivers now face charges in connection with the incident.
The driver of the minivan has been charged with a failure to yield from private drive.
The operator of the scooter faces various charges related to the status of the scooter under guidelines set out by the Ministry of Transportation.
