2 charged after Hamilton police seize shotgun, assault rifle in stolen vehicle

Hamilton police have charged two adults after seizing a shotgun and assault rifle in a stolen vehicle.

Investigators found a stolen vehicle in the area of Fennell Ave. East and Upper Gage Ave. in the evening of June 1.

Police followed the vehicle until they were able to safely arrest both occupants in the east end of the city.

Officers then searched the vehicle and found a sawed off shotgun and the upper receiver of an assault rifle.

Fifty-year-old Barry Baldwin and 34-year-old Shannon Bronson of Hamilton were charged with multiple property and firearm-related offences.

Police said both suspects remain in custody.
