19 year old man charged with assault following an incident at breakfast

On Monday February 22 shortly after 10:30 am police received a call about an assault at Sunset Grill on the corner of Kenilworth Avenue North and Barton Street East.

A group of people were having breakfast when a 19 year old man became agitated with a 29 year old man at the table.

Witnesses reported that the man picked up his breakfast of bacon and eggs, which police say was used as a weapon, and threw it so hard it caused the victim to be disoriented and fall off his chair.  The 29 year old man was taken to hospital where he was treated and released.

The 19-year old Hamilton man is now facing assault charges as well as breach of probation.
