18-year-old arrested in connection to Brantford homicide

Police say one man is dead and another has been arrested after a disturbance in Brantford Thursday evening.

Brantford police say officers responded to a residence on Henry St. near Stanley St. around 7:30 p.m.

When police arrived on scene, they found a 60-year-old man suffering from life-threatening injuries.

The victim received medical treatment on scene and was sent to hospital. He later succumbed to his injuries in hospital.

18-year-old Aedyn James Pickering of Brantford was arrested at the scene and is charged with first degree murder.

The man who died was known to James.

Police say there is no threat to public safety as a result of the incident. Police also say the investigation is ongoing.
