17 year old faces sex assault charges

A 17-year old boy facing several charges – including sexual assault – will be in court for a bail hearing Friday.

He was arrested after a house fire in Walsingham, near Simcoe on Monday.

Norfolk OPP say two people were taken to hospital.

The people can’t be identified because of a publication ban.

But CHCH News has learned the woman who was assaulted was the mother of one of the boy’s friends.

She was airlifted to Hamilton and remains in serious condition.

Her 5 year old son was treated in hospital and released.
