A 17-year-old boy has been charged with stunt driving after police pulled over a vehicle that was going 157 kilometres an hour on the Red Hill Valley Parkway.

Shortly before 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday, officers saw a black 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt travelling at a high rate of speed on the parkway.

Police say the vehicle was caught going 67 kilometres over the posted speed limit and the driver was pulled over.

The boy’s G2 licence was seized for seven days at the scene and his vehicle was towed. It will be held for seven days.

He is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.

Penalties for stunt driving can include possible drivers license suspension up to two years, seven demerit points and if convicted, a drive could be fined between $2,000 and $10,000.
