17-year-old arrested in connection to Hamilton’s 9th homicide of the year

Hamilton police have identified the young man stabbed to death in a parking lot melee on the mountain early Sunday morning.

On Sunday, July 19 around 1 a.m., two groups, one from Hamilton the other from Peel, met at a parking lot at 310 Limeridge Rd. to discuss an ongoing dispute.

Four cars with 8-10 males from Peel were immediately swarmed by 20-30 males from Hamilton armed with an array of weapons including knives, sticks, rocks and a taser. The group in the vehicles were assaulted, removed from the cars and chased.

19-year-old Ali Mohammad was found by K9 hours after the chaotic brawl when someone from the Peel group told police he was still missing.

A 17-year-old male from Hamilton has been charged with second-degree murder, aggravated assault and assault with a weapon, he will appear in court Tuesday morning.
