The impeachment trial for former President Donald Trump is scheduled to start next month.

The U.S. Senate has rejected a Republican attempt to dismiss Donald Trump’s historic second impeachment trial.

But the dismissal got the support by all but five Senate Republicans, making it clear a conviction for “incitement of insurrection” is unlikely.

The trial will begin as scheduled the week of Feb. 8,

Trump is accused on inciting a mob to storm the U.S. Capitol to prevent the affirmation of Joe Biden’s victory in the 2020 election.

But he is not the only person dealing with legal fallout from that day.
