Police say the shooter was found dead. He was a student at the university but his identity has not been publicly released.
This is reportedly one of the worst mass shootings of its kind in the Czech Republic and President Petr Pavel said he was “shocked by the events” in a statement shared to his X account.
“I would like to express my deep regret and sincere condolences to the families and relatives of the victims that the shooting claimed,” Pavel said.
