14 children injured in knife attack in central China

A woman is in custody following a violent attack on a group of kindergartners  in central China.

Police say the 39-year-old was armed with a knife and attacked 14 children as they were returning to class after morning exercises.

The woman was restrained by security guards and school staff before being taken into police custody.

All the injured kids were taken to hospital for treatment.

Details on their conditions have not been released.

There is no information about a potential motive for the attack.
