Today is byelection day for a seat on Hamilton city council in Ward 7.
There are 22 candidates and the winner will represent more than 62 000 people.
Ward 7 is on Hamilton mountain. It’s stretches from part of the Mountain Brow, south past Rymal Road to Upper James to the west and Upper Gage and Upper Sherman to the east.
The council seat was left vacant when Scott Duvall became the NDP MP in last fall’s federal election.
Advance polls were held earlier this month. Voting opened at 10 this morning and goes until 8 tonight.
