Homeowners interrupt break-in

Homeowners arrived home late last night to encounter someone in their home on Ranwood Court, near Upper Gage and Stonechurch.

The homeowner went inside to find a man searching their home. They tried to stop the suspect, but he got away and fled home on foot. During the struggle, the homeowner was able to recover the items that the suspect was trying to steal. He left empty handed.

The suspect broke into the home by breaking a window and climbing inside to the basement area.

Police responded and searched the area for the suspect, but did not find him. The Hamilton Police Forensics Unit searched the house.

The police are looking for a white male, with a thin build.

5’8″ with brown hair.

He was approximately 16 years old and wearing a black jacket, a black sweater, black jeans and a black toque.
