Brant Street watermain break

Brant Street is closed in downtown Burlington, until noon today, for a water main break.

The street is flooded from Pine to Lakeshore and crews have been working throughout the night to repair it. Businesses shut down early due to the flooding when the water main burst around 9 pm. The city of Burlington brought in a backhoe to dig out the pavement in order to make the repairs.

Police say there’s a giant hole in the road. They say it was caused by a cracked pipe that got worse with the weather.
