Quebec officer Thierry Leroux killed over the weekend

Quebec’s Ministry of Public Safety and provincial police are investigating the shooting death of a police officer.

Twenty-six-year-old Thierry Leroux was killed Saturday night as he and his partner responded to a domestic call at a home in Lac-Simon. Leroux had been a member of the local force for six months.

Authorities say at least one shot was fired as they arrived on the scene. The other officer was treated in hospital for shock.

A 22-year-old suspect, was found dead inside the home and police believe he shot himself.
