Ontario Provincial Police were shocked when they were called in to investigate an erratic driver on the northbound Hwy. 400 and pulled over an 11-year-old boy on Saturday night.

The boy had been playing the video game “Grand Theft Auto” that night and then took his parents’ car to see what driving the real thing felt like.

OPP Sgt. Kerry Schmidt said that the driver was found travelling significantly lower than the speed limit. Once an officer attempted to approach the vehicle after the boy exited the highway, then the vehicle took off and went southbound on the Hwy. 400 travelling upwards of 120 km/h.

The boy was stopped safely by two OPP cruisers and returned to his parents. OPP said that no charges will be laid.

Sgt. Schmidt posted a Periscope video to Twitter with details that were aired on the 6 p.m. Evening News with Nicole Martin.
