His work has been showcased across the country and abroad but renowned contemporary artist Kim Adams’ most famous piece has been calling Hamilton home for over a decade.

Nestled on the second floor of the Art Gallery of Hamilton sits an orangey-red 1960s Volkswagon. It’s an evolving piece of art, buried under an array of action figures and trinkets. Kim Adams a Governor General’s award winner, has been working on the “bruegel-bosch bus” for over 18 years.

Adam’s sculpture has been a fixture at the art gallery for about 10 years. During that time he’s been adding figurines, trains, skyscrapers, you name it to his masterpiece.

Adams is back in Hamilton this week to add to the always growing sculpture but has come to the realization that the bus won’t ever be “finished”
