$1,000 for Burlington flood victims without insurance

There is some relief today for Burlington residents devastated by flooding after the severe thunderstorm in early August.
$1,000 is being made available to homeowners without flood insurance. The money is coming from the Burlington Community Foundation relief committee which has raised $450,000 in an ongoing fundraising campaign to meet their $2 million goal.
The city is waiting to hear whether the province will contribute up to two dollars for every dollar raised locally.
