One person is in hospital after a fiery two-vehicle collision Monday afternoon in Thorold.

Niagara police say it happened around 3:20 p.m. in the area of Hurricane and Cataract roads, which is now closed for an investigation.

Video of the scene shows one vehicle destroyed by the flames.

A spokesperson for the force says one person was transported to hospital with unspecified injuries.

The area of Hurricane and Cataract roads was closed for an investigation, but reopened as soon as the person’s injuries were determined to be non-life-threatening.

There is no word yet on the cause of the crash.
