1 person in critical condition after ‘serious’ collision in Niagara: police

Niagara police say a man is in critical condition after a serious collision in the region on Saturday night.
Police say the crash happened shortly after 7:30 p.m. and involved a bicycle and a grey 2015 Chevrolet Equinox SUV.
Officers say a 44-year-old man was riding his bicycle eastbound on Portage Road when he was struck by the SUV which was driven by a 73-year-old woman.

The cyclist was taken to an out-of-town trauma centre for “life-threatening” injuries.
Police say the driver of the Chevrolet was not injured and no charges have been laid at this time.
