39-year-old man dead after single-vehicle crash in Oakville

A 39-year-old man is dead following a single-vehicle collision in Oakville Friday morning.

Halton police say the crash happened around 8:40 a.m. at the intersection of Trafalgar Rd. and Dundas St. East.

Police say the man was driving a pickup truck on Dundas St. when he left the roadway to unknown reasons. He then hit a street light and a fire hydrant before coming to rest at the corner of the intersection.

The driver was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead. Police say the cause of his death is still under investigation.
