1 charged in serious stabbing at a St. Catharines apartment building

One person has been charged following a serious stabbing that sent one man to hospital in St. Catharines Wednesday afternoon.
Around 3:50 p.m. officers responded to a reported stabbing inside a multi story residential apartment building Vine Street, north of Carlton Street.
A man in his 20s was found to be suffering from multiple serious stab wounds caused by a knife. Niagara police say it is believed the victim was sprayed with an animal repellant before the suspect ran from the scene of the attack.
The suspect was found by officers walking in the area around 4:15 p.m. and was placed under arrest.
Collin George Lauzon, 27, of St. Catharines faces charges of assault with a weapon, aggravated assault and failure to comply with a probation order.
The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing on Thursday.
