1 charged after ‘targeted’ stabbing over the weekend in Hamilton

A 24-year-old man has been charged in connection with a stabbing that sent one man to hospital in Hamilton on Friday night.
Police were called to the area of Concession Street and East 34th Street around 8:30 p.m. where they discovered a 24-year-old victim suffering from stab wounds to his back and the right side of his body.
The victim was taken to hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Detectives say the incident was believed to be targeted and posed no threat to the public.
As a result of ongoing investigation, a suspect identified solely as a 24-year-old man has been charged with assault with a weapon.
