When emergency personnel arrived at the scene, they say a grey Toyota Corolla and a Ford Mustang had been in a head-on collision.

The man driving the Toyota had suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital before he was later airlifted to an out-of-region trauma centre.

The driver of the Ford was also taken to hospital with what authorities believe to be non-life-threatening injuries.

Authorities say the Toyota had been heading southbound on Ridgeway Road at a “high rate of speed” when it collided with the Ford and then a parked, unoccupied Acura TL.

A stretch of Ridgeway Road between Fernwood Lane and Graeber Avenue was temporarily closed but has since reopened.

The investigation into the matter remains ongoing and no charges have been laid at this time.

Detectives are asking anyone with information about this incident to contact them by calling 905-688-4111.
