Three people have been charged in connection with a pair of suspicious fires that completely destroyed three homes under construction and damaged others in Burlington last year.
Halton police say they responded to two fires on separate nights at the same address on Lodi Road near Walkers Line and Dundas Street.
The first blaze took place on Dec. 2, 2023 and caused minor damage.
Emergency crews were called back to the area during the early morning hours on Dec. 4, 2023, when several new builds were set ablaze. Three homes were completely destroyed, while two others were damaged.
No one was injured in the fires, despite one of the homes being occupied at the time of the second blaze.

Officials say the fires caused approximately $1.7 million in damages.
Nearly one year later, police say they have arrested and charged three people from the Greater Toronto Area.
Zani Redzepovski, 34, of Ajax and Lee Anthony, 40, of Courtice were both charged with one count of arson, damage to property in connection with the fire on Dec. 2.
Thirty-eight-year-old Barry Needs of Clarington and Lee Anthony were also charged with one count of arson, disregard human life in relation to the second fire on Dec. 4.
All three people were held in custody pending a bail hearing.
